3 invitations that are easy, cheap, and quick to do for a late summer wedding

3 invitations that are easy, cheap, and quick to do for a late summer wedding

One of the best things about summer weddings is their ability to be simple, easy, and still beautifully done. If you are planning a late summer wedding, you still have time to get that perfect invite that matches your theme and colors, and you can do it easily, cheaply, and quickly with one of these ideas.

Floral invites

Nothing says summer quite like flowers and bright colors. Incorporate both into your wedding with the invites. You can buy card stock in a light color, design an invite the way you’d like with a computer program like Photoshop, then print that one the card stock. Don’t just stop there, though! Really make it pop by adding in jewels to the center of the flowers, or if they are arranged like a bouquet, add twine or ribbon to make a 3-D tie for the bouquet. If you are good at painting, you can print everything in black and white and use paint (or even a marker) to high-light certain areas in the colors you want.

Nautical invites

Summertime is best by the water- so why not have a nautical themed wedding? The invites will really set the mood for this one. Try to do a plain invite on blue and white striped card stock. In the center, glue a yellow piece of paper that has your wedding info printed on it. At the top, glue a knotted piece of white rope and in one corner glue a 3-D anchor (you can pick up at craft stores in the scrapbook section). It’s really that easy to set the mood for a simple nautical wedding.

Lazy summer day

Summer has lots of great activities that you can get into and that you can fuse into your wedding. For example, hot air balloon rides, kite flying, and picnics are all ways to pass lazy summer days and they make great wedding themes. If you want a picnic wedding, for example, send out an invite on checkered card stock with cute wording that lets people know this will be a picnic. If you want a wedding where people fly kites during the reception, send out a kite-shaped invitation. The possibilities are endless and summer weddings really do allow for just about anything to take place.

Nothing says wedding like the perfect wedding invitation. Why not make sure yours is beautiful, functional and inexpensive!
