MARK OF THE WITCH
Magic flows through Jillian Proctor’s veins as surely as blood, but so far her life outside Boston has been peaceful. William Morgan blows into Jilly’s life like a hurricane, unleashing her magic and sending her out of control. Unknowingly, William brings an enemy who only wants to posses the power of the witch. Jilly must learn to harness her magic before she loses it – and everything in her life is destroyed.

Mark of the Witch
Reviewed by Marlise Langenhoven who writes over at In A Manner of Speaking!
Mark of the Witch is a supernatural love story filled with intrigue. The author has stepped away from using Vampires as her immortals, opting instead for an ancient kind of immortal that is just born that way. That in itself was a pleasant surprise for me. The story in essence is about family and history. The chords that bind and sometimes pull us apart. This is illustrated well in the sibling relationships in the story itself. Throw in a jealous ex-girlfriend (who is immortal and therefore NEVER goes away) and some unhappy family history, and you have quite a decent and fairly, original story.
It would be fair to say, that Mark of the Witch wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea. There are scenes of conjuring up spells. Then again, the main character is a witch, so one has to expect that. The writing style may also not be everyone’s cup of tea. There were times when the dialogue felt stilted and unnatural, but for a light, lay next to the pool, or on the beach read, Mark of the Witch by Jessica Gibson is fairly enjoyable
