Takumi Japan Week recap

Takumi Japan Week fun

What a fun week was had by all who attended Japan Week in NYC last weekend. I would call it a success for introducing all who attended to artisans from Japan Week. The crafters were impressed with the turn out and attendance. It was a fun trip filled with good food and lots of beautiful handcrafted items made by artisans. The people who put on this production had the desire to introduce the small business market to these new up and coming crafters. It was a job they took seriously and they did it so very well.  Takumi Japan was well represented this past week.

Japan Week was full of handcrafted items to see.

Takumi Japan wrapped up their week of fun on Saturday evening. The many different kinds of arts and crafts were so lovely to see. I love being able to talk with the person who crafted the item as well. It’s fun to hear if there is a background story to the items that they created. The dancing was traditional in nature but beautiful to watch. Their slideshows for the graphics part of the exhibit was bold and creative. Digital arts are becoming so important in this world in which we live. Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall did a wonderful job holding the event there. It was easily accessible and a site to see. The regional food that they offered was not to be missed. It was flavorful and beautifully displayed. Art is not just about what goes on the wall. There is art to displaying food too. Takumi which means artisan translates to a beautiful time of fun sharing crafters in their finest form. Thanks for letting me take part Takumi Japan!
