We got our first tomato from the garden last week. We ate it on a sandwich and it was so good. Gardens are the reason Summer is my favorite season. I do love my garden and my vegetables. Today I did a turkey bacon, lettuce, and double tomato sandwich for lunch. Truth be known I put a salad on my sandwich. If I go to Subway there is an entire salad on my sandwich. Salad veggies and sandwiches just go together. Here’s a very easy way to make this sandwich.
Bake your turkey bacon in the oven on *350 for 20 minutes. Then slice your tomato, add your salad (no really, we used bagged salad, instead of lettuce, time saver and you are welcome). Then bake your potatoes (they had already been baked once) now I cut them and baked them again so they were like potato wheels. Bake them at *350 for 30 minutes and turn them halfway during the cooking.
My grandmother made things like this all the time. We just made it a touch healthier. It does make a very nommy lunch! What do you make from your garden’s bounty?
