What is essential when you have a baby?
It’s that special time in your life. You’re about to become parents. You are so bombarded with the products out there that are being thrown at you in commercials and by your friends. It’s hard to weed through the products and know what you need and not purchase what you don’t need. As a mom of 3, I can tell you exactly what you do need and what you can do without.
5 Must Haves When You Have a Baby
1. Bed of some kind whether it be a pack n play, cradle, bassinet or a baby bed you need a place that you can lay the little bundle of joy down. You don’t need all 3! For best results a baby bed or pack n play will last you through the biggest growth spurts.
2. A wrap or a wearable baby carrier. I had an ergo and loved it so much. It freed up my hands and allowed me to cook, walk my kids into school, or simply grocery shop and my babies were always happy in the wraps/baby wearing device.
3. Car Seat You can’t get by without a car seat, unless you don’t have a car but even then you’ll be transporting the baby on the bus or in someone else’s car/taxi so you’ll need a Britax UK car seat to get that baby around.
4. Diapers and wipes I was a cloth diapering mama and I loved everything reusable. But if you disposable diaper that is your choice and you have to diaper that baby. I loved how much money I saved on cloth diapering though. So think about it.
5. Clothing and blankets You have to cloth that sweet baby. You don’t want the baby too cold or too hot so onesies and things you can layer are excellent ways to cloth that baby.
You can get by without most of the other items that are bombarding you. Of course you’ll need to feed the baby, breast is best and free but in case you can’t breast feed you will then need to get bottles and formula. The essentials of what you need for a baby are minimal. Our culture has made it insane with products. These 5 Must Haves When You Have a Baby are all you need.
