Lemons and Lavender
The Eco Guide to Better Homekeeping
By Billee Sharp
Lemons and Lavender will give you tools to reclaim a purer, tastier, healthier and less expensive way of life. Sharp shares her radical common sense and revolutionary “freeconomics” approach to budgeting in this step-by-step guide to the good life.
To be honest, this book is a little much for me. For instance, I excitedly turned to the section on making your own bread. Wow! Billee Sharp really believes in starting from “scratch”. She leads you through making your own starter for making your own dough. Then she leads you through making and baking. Sorry, but this is definitely not me.
However, I loved the guides on how to make your own cleaning supplies, the information on making your own eco-friendly pet products and products to get rid of pesky bugs. Then there is the section on cooking. Super Easy Sponge-Cake and Killer Quesadillas are two that come to mind. I’m anxious to give them a try. There is a great recipe for Vegetable Soup and making your own yogurt.
