Size

Ideally you want a gun safe with a bio-metric lock, as this type of lock requires fingerprints in order to disengage. While pricey, this is the best lock to have if you have children, or simply have an extensive and expensive collection of guns to protect.
If you don’t want to or can’t spring for a gun safe with a bio-metric lock, the fail-safe (pun intended) is a combination lock – though obviously you’ll want to remember the combo!
