Gah! I hate getting older. As I sit in front of this computer for hours trying to make an income from home my eyes can’t take my contacts any more. I now have on my glasses. They are about 3 years old. Rarely worn. My family looked at me like I had 3 heads. The girl didn’t know what to do or say to me all day. She just kept staring. I get it I look different in glasses.<\/p>\n
I hate my vision. There’s honestly very little vision there. There’s some and it’s correctable to like 20\/50 if I’m lucky. So many things I can’t read. My dh has to read anything that shows up as a note on the tv. It’s so annoying. I will, I’m sure, be one of those moms who is driven around by her husband as she gets older. It’s a fact of life. One I can not change.<\/p>\n
I know it could be worse. I went to school for a semester to be a teacher of the visually impaired and wanted to teach at the TN School for the Blind. I didn’t get to finish the program. My brother unexpectedly died and then my dad ended up in the hospital for 6 months. That changed the way I felt about school and what in my life was important. But I learned a lot that semester.<\/p>\n
I learned my vision will continue to change as I get older. Like the dry eyes I’ve been experiencing. My opthalmologist informed me that I am a candidate for laser surgery. But even after they did it I would still have to wear contacts or glasses. So he didn’t recommend it. I’m just grateful I was born during this time period. No man would have had a wife who couldn’t see back centuries ago. What good would I have been? I’m happy to be me. Visual impairment and all! Now when will they be able to make my glasses stop looking like coke bottles. Good grief you’d have thought in all this time they could have fixed that!<\/p>\n
