No Knead Bread recipe and quick cooking tips

I wanted to help you with your day. Today it’s 8:15 am and I’ve already made breakfast and started dinner. Here’s some quick tips.

Did you know you can make an egg in the microwave? I made a fried egg in a bowl in my microwave with no oil. I cracked open the egg and put it in the bowl. Then I set the microwave for 44 seconds (my microwave is old you will have to play with your time to figure out what works for your microwave). After that I checked it and cooked it another 9 seconds. I toasted my english muffin with the cheese on it. Then I made my egg/cheese english muffin. It was yummy and super easy with no pans messed up. I’m always looking for easy ways to cook that doesn’t mess up pans.

Then I began some bread for dinner using my favorite recipe. I make No Knead Bread quite frequently. It is super yummy and so easy to make. It looks like the Artisan bread that you can purchase at fancy stores. However, it costs you pennies to make. Here’s what I did:

To a bowl I added 3 cups of bread flour, 1/4 tsp yeast, 1 tsp salt and 1.5 cups of very warm water.

Mix the dough together and let it be a doughy mess. Put plastic wrap over the bowl and let it do it’s thing on the counter  for 12-24 hours.

When you uncover it, it looks like above and it’s risen quite nicely. I have turned it into bread earlier then that when I didn’t have time to wait and it was fine. A lot of times I’ll add spices to the bread to give it a unique flavor.

When you have 2 hours left dump the bread onto a floured towel and fold it over a few times. Cover with the towel and let it rest for 2 hours. The nap is over and the 12 hours is now up. So, preheat your oven to 450* and put your ovenware in the oven while it’s preheating. I usually use my corning ware dish with a tall side (about 3 inches or so).

After it’s preheated pull your hot pan out of the oven and dump your bread into the pan.  You can tell by my picture I’m such a perfectionist. Not. The bread is dumped in the pan and you shake the pan to kind of even it out. That’s it. I then cover the pan with aluminum foil and cook it for 30 minutes. Take the foil off and then continue cooking for 15-20 minutes at a lower temp *425. Pull it out of the oven take it out of the pan and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Then slice and eat! Yum~I can taste it now. I’m pairing this tonight with a southwest taco soup. Heaven.

I use the recipe over at the Steamy Kitchen when I make my bread. I’ve never had it fail!

Try making the no knead bread. You will not be sorry!
