Homemade salsa so good your friends will think you got it from a Mexican restaurant!

My family eats so much salsa. My middle child reminds me of me. That’s what I had as an after school snack on most days. It’s what he loves also. We have so many tomatoes right now that I had to make some and use them up. Here’s my quick and easy recipe for salsa.

Ingredients
  1. I used 9 roma sized tomatoes
  2. 1/2 bunch of cilantro
  3. 2 packs of salsa seasoning
  4. 1 smallish onion
Instructions
  1. Chop onion in food processor. Boil water and drop tomatoes in after cleaning them. Let boil for 3 minutes drop in cold water with ice to stop the cooking. Let sit 3 minutes. Peel the peel off the tomatoes and core them. Add to food processor. Chop 1/2 the bunch of cilantro and add to food processor. Add seasoning and pulse. You can have it chunky or smooth your choice. So good!
Notes
  1. This makes 2 batches at once. You can half it if your family is smaller then mine. 🙂

    I love homemade salsa!

  2. Gotta make this! Looks easy enough! I’ve never tried making my own salsa.

  3. Bottled salsas can be expensive so we usually do our own too! We prefer it to be a bit chunky.

Love it! We make salsa all the time, especially late summer when we can get all the ingredients from our garden. Our house eats a LOT of salsa, lol. We put tomatoes, onions, salsa peppers, green peppers, and cilantro in ours (all from our garden), then we add some garlic salt.

  5. People are always so impressed when I make my homemade salsa for events…. It is loved

Homemade salsa is the best, especially if you grew the ingredients. Thankfully I still have some left from a previous year’s bumper crop of tomatoes because this year was a huge garden bust! Few tomatoes, no peppers, no lettuce (The squirrels ate that before it grew.) no peas (ditto squirrels – I tried container gardening on the porch, it went squirrely! ;(
