We’ve all been there. Looking and searching for that perfect job. Something that will pay the bills and make us happy about what we do for a living. But do you know how to make a resume to get that job? There are some simple steps that you can take when writing your resume.
1. Put your resume in chronological order starting with the most recent job and going backwards. This shows them the history of your work experience.
2. Elaborate on what you brought to each job. What did you change for the better, tweak so it is faster or implement that improved the last work place environment? No matter how big or small it was if it was an improvement make sure you put all it on your resume.
3. Do you volunteer for any positions? Anything! Are you a softball coach, sunday school teacher, dog trainer, even a volunteer nursery worker? Make sure to list these as it shows that you are willing to work even when it doesn’t involve monetary compensation. You will be a worker!
4. Highlight you skills that may not even pertain to your current position you are applying for. If you can do coding or html and you are applying for a bookkeeping job, put the coding skill down. They may be needing someone to do some html for a small project and this could give you the edge you need to land this job!
Jobs are hard to come by in this economy. Any small thing you can do to give yourself an edge will help you get that perfect job. Once you get the interview remember to highlight these skills too. Good luck in the job hunt!
