this past week. It’s one I’d rather not ever have had to celebrate. I can’t believe I missed it this year. See, 4 years ago my best friend since 3rd grade was murdered by her so called ex-boyfriend. The day he did this we get together and celebrate her beautiful life for the way she lived it. We are trying to re-frame that day and make it as positive as we can.

Her son and lots of children are there. We eat and talk and last year we listened to tape recordings of her voice or look at pictures of her. Recalling times we had long since thought we had forgotten.

I’ve been having kidney problems. If i’m not having stones then a nice UTI will pop up in it’s place, just to make sure that I know that my kidneys are there and working. So this year I slept a lot on that day and somehow let the day get away. I know she doesn’t care. She loved me the way I was, flaws and all. I missed out on her family and friends getting together. I will just need to make a special trip to see them this year. I do miss them too. They were my other family growing up.

What an unbelievably selfish act it is to think you can take care of “your” problems by ending someone else’s life and taking that person away from all of us. Whew, glad I got that out. Have a great day friends.
