My hubby and I celebrated 20 years together this year. That’s a lot of anniversaries we had to find things to do on. With small kids and a small budget that sometimes made for some very interesting anniversaries. Here’s a list of all we’ve done.
1. Go kayaking together and spend time on a quiet lake or river. This was such a great anniversary date. We enjoyed the quiet of the lake and the company of each other. The poison ivy I got was just a bonus. Oy!
2. Go on a long hike and take a picnic. We enjoy nature a lot. So we spend a lot of time out in it. It’s so relaxing just being together and drowning out the world, cell phones, internet.
3. Have a pot luck dinner and invite your friends. We did and supplied a nice big cake and drinks and we all had a blast. It was one of the most fun anniversary date ideas that we had. Celebrating with those you love always makes it special.
4. Send the kids to the grandparents, rent a redbox and make a nice dinner. We are always on a budget so this was definitely one we’ve done and what we are able to afford. It’s still a special night with you and your love.
5. Write love letters to each other, turn off the tv and all the interruptions and just be together. Play board games or cards and just share your time.
Anniversaries are the time to just spend time reflecting on the years you’ve made it through and the ones to come. There’s no reason to spend tons of money just be together and remember why it is you feel in love. Happy Anniversary and may you have many more to come!
