What People are Saying about Fearless

“Tawdra’s debut novel enthralled me from the start. She captures the struggles and fears of the high school journey perfectly- with a paranormal twist. Tasmyn and Michael will have you adding them to your “favorite couples” list! I was sad to see this book end, and look forward to reading more by Tawdra soon!” Sarah M. Ross Young Adult Writer

“Fearless is a fantastic read. It is appropriate for both young adult and older readers with its charming storyline of a young lady learning to use her supernatural gift for the greater good. The characters are relatable, something that every reader can appreciate. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series takes Tasmyn, Michael and their friends.” Marcie Bridges, reviewer

“Fearless is a great read for young and old alike. It perfectly
intertwines the magic of first love with the twists and turns of a
thrilling plot that pulls the reader in. When I finished the final
chapter, I could not wait until my next “trip” to King to visit with Tasmyn and Michael!” —Devyn Prado, Reviewer Taking Time for Mommy

The 4 Predictors of Divorce and 4 Predictors of Successful Marriages

This was first posted on the Marriage Resource Center.

John Gottman, a “mathematical” marriage researcher, has identified four predictors of divorce known as “The Four Horsemen”. On the positive side, he has also identified four predictors of marriage success.

Predictors of divorce
Stonewalling – withdrawing and refusing to participate in communication
Criticism – nagging without warmth and open-mindedness
Defensiveness – not take responsibility for contributions to problems
Contempt – a total lack of respect for partner

Are any of these going on in your marriage? Try to see if you can change something that you are doing. Remember you can only change yourself. So, start with you first. Try to be less critical. What’s your main problem?  They don’t fold the shirts the way you do? Is the way he folds the shirts going to matter if he passed away? Would you still focus on how he folded the shirts? Don’t sweat the small stuff. Who really cares? If your spouse is having a bad day try not to take it personally. It may not be about you at all and could be about something that happened to them at work. Try to keep the tone out of your voice. Can’t keep a tone out of your voice, talk with a smile on your face. Don’t forget to always talk about your feelings. But frame it in such a way that it’s your problem not theirs. When I see you do xxx it makes me feel xxx.

Predictors of marriage success
More positives than negatives – at least a 5:1 ratio
Repair attempts – “putting on the brakes” instead of continuing unproductive cycles
Soft start-up – gentle in sharing complaints or desires
Accepting influence – not just understanding partner, but actually accepting of his or her ideas

So, please remember to be positive in your dealings with your spouse and your family. Try to think instead of speaking hurtful things. Make sure you are gentle when you have a complaint with something your partner does. Remember we’re not perfect either. And treat your partner as an equal. Accept their ideas and validate their feelings. These things can keep a marriage on the course for a lifetime.

It’s time for us to get into shape!

In honor of that, here’s a list of the top 10 workout songs.

The Top 10 Workout Songs For Winter 2012

San Francisco, CA – Jan 11, 2012 – Traditionally, winter is the time of year when folks find it hardest to get out and exercise.  In the hopes of keeping folks motivated, readers from Run Hundred–the web’s most heavily-trafficked site for workout music–were  polled regarding their favorite, current workout songs.  The resulting top 10 list has a little of what you’d expect—and a little you might not.  Flo Rida, who’s no stranger to this list, shows up in two recent tracks.  Enrique Iglesias continues his transition from balladeer to club rocker.  And Kelly Clarkson, after faltering with the first single off her new album, bounced back ferociously with the second.

As for surprises, they’re mostly entries from folks relatively new on the dance scene.  Highlights include songs from Tim Berg (who remixed his own track under his Avicii moniker), Skrillex (whose collaboration with Kaskade is the first dubstep track ever the make the Top 10), and Wolfgang Gartner (who’s made the chart with a little help from the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am).
Here’s the full list:

To find more songs–and hear next month’s contenders—folks can check out Run Hundred’s database of workout songs. Visitors can browse the song selections there by genre, tempo, and era—to find the music that best fits with their particular workout routine.

Chocolate Slow Cooker Homemade Holiday Treats #homemadeholidaytreats

I’m on a diet. Why did I just put 3 lbs of chocolate in my crockpot? Oy vey! This is not going to be good for my waistline but will be yummy for the family. It would make a great item to include in Christmas treats or to take to a party and it’s so simple to make. To top it all off you get to use your slow cooker and set it and forget it! Yeah! Here’s the cast of characters.

I don’t know about you but I’m one of those cooks that throws whatever I have in. So you’re supposed to have:

36 oz salted peanuts (I love all kinds of nuts so I used dry roasted salted peanuts, mixed nuts, and even some pecans I had)

1 bar of german chocolate from Baker’s

1 package of semisweet chocolate chips

1 entire package of white almond bark

And you layer it in the slow cooker in that order. Here’s the pics. I got a little picture crazy here! Nuts.

German Chocolate.

Now chocolate chips.

White almond bark.

Lid on and 3 hour wait, uh I mean cooking  on low! My crockpot cooks really hot. So I was super paranoid about it burning. I turned it off after 2 hours and 15 minutes and left it for another hour to just sit. It was perfect after I stirred it.

And the final product! It is to die for!

And Plated up Chocolate Yummy Goodness!!

I found this item on Pinterest from Trisha Yearwood’s recipe. I adapted it for myself. Hope you make it and enjoy it regularly with your family. It’s a simple go to candy that can be made so very easily! Want some more recipes? Check out the other great holiday treats listed on our friend’s blogs!
