5 wedding dress ideas for $50 or less
Finding a wedding dress on a budget is hard. Finding one for $50 or less is impossible! Right? Not really, if you know how to do it right. These tips can help you find 5 wedding dress ideas for $50 or less.
Buy a prom dress
Prom dresses may not be what you thought about when you were planning your wedding dress, but there are many cream, white, ivory, and champagne colored styles that can make for fabulous wedding attire. Many are also unique, too, when compared to traditional wedding styles, and come in less bulky materials. Plus, you an generally find them for a great price. Check department stores first, then go to boutiques that sell prom and even pageant dresses. If you opt for one that is plain enough, you can always customize it later to be just what you want for a price you can live with.
Shop Vintage for your wedding dress
Vintage, second-hand, antique, and thrift shops all have those quirky finds- and wedding dresses are no exception! If you like the idea of a recycle, up-cycled, or used dress, check out these places. Also check garage sales and grandma’s attic! With a little lace, a bolero or wrap, a funky headpiece, and some fabulous shoes you can turn an old dress into a stylish new piece for a wedding. Besides, vintage is all the rage right now and you sill be in-style and in budget by going this route.
Show off those legs and the gorgeous shoes you bought for this day in a short dress. Short dresses are cheaper and definitely in style. You can go above-the-knee, at-the-knee, tea length, and even calf length to get a sassy style that not many brides can rock- but you can! If you don’t like the idea of an all-over short dress, find a chiffon summer dress in the hi-low style and add a bridal sash and some lace pieces to it. You’ll come in under $50 and have a look that is so very in and very unique.
Bridal shops often have a clearance sale because they need to make room for new styles. Shop them! Even if you are a size 12 and the dresses are all a size 22, you can still get a great deal. Alterations aren’t that expensive, and if you save enough on the dress you can afford to have it altered professionally. Buy a plain style from the Winter Collection for a Spring wedding and add in ruffles, bows, ribbons, pearls, jewels and whatever else you want. Shopping clearance just gives you the dress- what you do with it is up to you!
If you want to get a dress right now, and you don’t want it to cost much while still being unique, go with a skirt and blouse. Seem too casual? You haven’t seen a pleated maxi skirt, then! If you really want to turn some heads and get tongues wagging, get a pleated maxi skirt in a high waist and wear a cropped long sleeved blouse. This is so elegant, so red carpet, and a style that not many people dare to wear. It will show about two inches of skin, but it will still look sophisticated and bridal with a veil and some nice jewelry. Do you dare to go this route?
Finding your wedding dress for $50 or less can be a challenge.
But it’s so worth it. This is one day in your journey. Do not blow your budget when you may not have too. Just think outside the box and your wedding can be beautiful and elegant. Your spouse will love you for saving money this way!
